The Verkhovna Rada approved the draft 2027 state budget in its first reading with 239 lawmakers voting in favor. Security and defense allocations account for around two-thirds of planned expenditure, and the projected deficit is nearly Hr 1.7 trillion ($37 billion), according to The Kyiv Independent.
