Sumy Region has 13 functional underground schools and nine more under construction, regional head Oleh Hryhorov told Ukrinform. Project documentation has been prepared for another 14 facilities. Hryhorov said the border region has endured more than 4,200 Russian aerial bomb attacks this year, with Russian forces increasingly targeting civilians and infrastructure.
