GDACS drought alerts at orange level remain in place for a long list of countries, including Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Sudan, Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala and the United States, with others in Europe including Germany, France, Italy and Spain. The notices were issued between February and July 2026. The alerts give no figures for people affected, damage or losses, and the excerpts give no further details on current conditions in each country.
