Dolores Huerta, labour union co-founder and coiner of the rallying cry 'Si, se puede', died on Wednesday in Bakersfield, California, her family said. Her work was followed by Barack Obama, who later adapted the phrase. Huerta continued her activism on race, poverty, LGBTQ and women's rights until the last months of her life. Her death marks the loss of one of the most influential figures in the American labour and civil rights movements.
