Epic Games confirmed on October 28 that it is using generative AI tools to write code for Fortnite and Unreal Engine 6. Epic said its engineers are no longer writing the bulk of the code and that it worries more about moving too slowly than about AI skepticism. Separately, Epic chief Tim Sweeney claimed Valve has held gaming back for years by locking developers into the Steamworks walled garden.
