Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei strongly condemned territorial claims by the United Arab Emirates and Canada over Abu Musa, Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb, according to IRNA. The claims were made in a joint declaration by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Canadian Prime Minister. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, as reported by Press TV, called the claims illusory and said the three islands are inseparable and eternal parts of Iran's territory. Baqaei said the claims contradict the UN Charter and international law.
