Egypt rejected a citizenship application by Asmaa Hamad, the daughter of a Hamas negotiator, on security grounds, The Jerusalem Post reported on 2026-10-29. Egyptian media reports said she submitted the application while living in Egypt but has since relocated to Qatar with her husband. The reports do not say when the decision was made or whether the couple will appeal.
