Two earthquakes struck Vanuatu on 29 October 2026, a magnitude 5.4 at 00:08 UTC and a magnitude 4.9 at 00:57 UTC, both at 10 km depth. GDACS estimated 3 thousand people exposed to MMI VI shaking from the first quake and 40 thousand within 100 km of the second. No damage or casualties are reported in the alerts.
