The Somali Parliament's lower house has passed a new law against sexual violence, according to France 24. The country's criminal code dated back to 1962 and had not been updated since then. The NGO Legal Action Worldwide lobbied Somali authorities in support of the law. France 24 reported on the bill's passage, with program manager Sofia Rajab speaking to its correspondent in Nairobi.
