Iran's Revolutionary Guards Navy said on Friday that two oil tankers were stopped south of the Strait of Hormuz after ignoring radio warnings and attempting to use an unauthorized route. The Guards also said they destroyed a US unmanned vessel in the eastern strait, a claim with no immediate confirmation from the US military. The UK Maritime Trade Operations agency said a small boat attached two explosive devices to a tanker in the strait, causing an engine-room fire and temporarily disabling the vessel, in an attack the previous day. Iran International reported these details from UKMTO on Friday. The sources do not establish whether the disabled tanker is one of the two vessels the IRGC said it stopped.
