Nepal is trying artificial scent marking to deter big cats from entering villages, following a similar approach used in Botswana. Mongabay reported that a dispenser releases a laboratory-made version of a chemical found in big cat scent markings. The method aims to make tigers avoid human settlements without harming the animals.
