A new study found that 54% of participants under age 45 with type 2 diabetes achieved remission in six months on an intensive low-calorie diet and structured exercise program. Only 4% of those receiving usual care achieved remission. The results suggest that many younger adults could reverse the disease with intensive lifestyle changes.
