NASA released a global map of Mars showing 13 locations that match the mineralogy and chemistry of Teghaza 001, one of the most ancient Martian meteorites found on Earth. Scientists can never know for certain where a Martian meteorite originated, but clues in Teghaza 001 link it to highlands in Mars's southern hemisphere. The work helps researchers connect meteorite samples to Martian geology.
