Construction of backup river crossings has begun in Kyiv under a nationwide plan for 21 alternative routes, Infrastructure Minister Mykola Kalashnyk said. The first crossings in the capital are expected to open in early 2027. Kyiv is also partially reopening its damaged South Bridge, Kyiv Post reported. Ukrainska Pravda separately reported work on additional Dnipro River crossings.
