Activision said it will remove real footage of the 2022 Seoul Halloween crowd crush from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 in a November 12 update, after complaints from victims' families. The opening cinematic used clips of rescue efforts from the Itaewon crush, which killed 160 people, to depict the aftermath of a North Korean invasion. Bereaved families called on the publisher to pull the footage ahead of the fourth anniversary of the tragedy.
