Pakistan's military said it is "cautiously optimistic" about its mediation between Iran and the United States. The spokesman made the comments in his first interview on Friday, October 30, after a high-level delegation visited Tehran that week. Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan's chief mediator in efforts to de-escalate the eight-month-old Iran war, has been to Tehran twice this month. He most recently went on Monday alongside Saudi and Turkish officials. Reuters reported the interview.
