Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said he was extremely worried that a new round of fighting between the United States and Iran would be more destructive, speaking at the IISS Manama Dialogue in Bahrain, Reuters reported. Separately, the head of the Gulf Cooperation Council said Arab states remain open to negotiations with Iran but need a reciprocal response from Tehran, Iran International reported. The warnings came as senior regional officials at the Bahrain summit voiced concern over a more destructive phase of the war.
