NASA has again asked for ideas to reboost the Hubble Space Telescope and keep it from falling out of orbit, Ars Technica reported on October 31, 2026. The agency solicited similar proposals four years ago, but none of them went anywhere. Hubble's orbit is decaying, and without a boost it faces an eventual uncontrolled reentry, which is why the new request matters for one of astronomy's most productive observatories.
