Scientists have found that two experimental metal alloys stay flexible at temperatures as low as -253°C (-424°F), where similar materials usually become brittle, ScienceDaily reported on October 31, 2026. The alloys resist breaking. Instead of cracking, the metals reorganize their internal structures to absorb stress, a mechanism that could inform new materials.
