Activision said on October 31, 2026 that it will remove real footage of the Itaewon crowd crush from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and apologised to victims' families. The company confirmed the removal after the footage drew criticism from bereaved families. Separately, IGN reported that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game suffers from severe input lag, much worse than other platforms, leaving players at a competitive disadvantage in multiplayer.
