The Verge reported that a Reddit user named pdfu found hints in HomeView 27.2 code suggesting Apple could add security camera features to its smart home hub. The strings describe a camera mode with motion detection, live streaming, recording and privacy functions. According to pdfu, a setup page references using HomeView as a security camera with HomeKit Secure Video. Video feeds would reportedly be visible only to members of the home. Apple has not announced the feature.
