Three minor earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 to 5.1 were recorded by GDACS in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and Japan on 2 November 2026, each with a green alert. The Indonesian quake, magnitude 5.1 at about 94 km depth, is listed with about 2 thousand people within 100 km, the Papua New Guinea quake at 10 km depth with about 5 thousand within 100 km, and the Japan quake, off Shikoku at about 510 km depth, with no people affected within 100 km. None of the alerts reports deaths, injuries or damage, and the depths of the quakes would tend to limit surface shaking.
