A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck Argentina at 05:31 UTC on 1 November 2026 at a depth of about 202 km, according to a GDACS green alert. The alert says about 10,000 people live within 100 km of the epicentre. No deaths, injuries or damage are reported in the alert, and the depth of the quake would tend to limit surface shaking.
