Martha Stewart issued a statement on November 1, 2026 saying she is distressed that her Halloween costume depicting a homeless person offended people, after she deleted the photo from Instagram. The 85-year-old said the costume was meant to raise awareness of homelessness, which she called one of America's greatest ongoing crises and something she cares deeply about. Statements were reported by Page Six, TMZ and others. Just Jared also reported that she defended the costume in its Instagram comments and that Indya Moore reacted to her statement.
