Former IDF chief Herzi Halevi acknowledged that Israeli air strikes killed captives held by Palestinian groups in Gaza, according to Middle East Eye. Halevi, who resigned in 2025, also said in a Times of Israel interview that there was absolutely no internal betrayal behind the October 7 attack and that the attack was preventable. Halevi said the IDF warned Hezbollah against entering the fight and called for an inquiry into the attack. The remarks add to the debate over the handling of the hostage crisis and the October 7 failures.
