Israeli President Isaac Herzog will begin consultations on forming a government with the smallest Knesset parties, starting Wednesday at 5 p.m. with Religious Zionism-Zehut. The process ends with Likud at 8:30 p.m. the following day, according to The Jerusalem Post. Reuters described Herzog as a mild-mannered middleman tasked with persuading Israel's party leaders to form a government after a bruising election campaign. He has served both as opposition leader against Netanyahu and as a member of a unity cabinet under him.
