Nine people were killed when a business jet nosedived and erupted into a fireball near a busy roadway in South Florida, according to reports published on November 2, 2026. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy called the crash a "horrific tragedy" and said all nine people aboard died. NPR reported that the jet had departed from Austin, Texas, and was headed to the Bahamas when it crashed into a Florida neighborhood. Earlier reports placed the crash near President Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, and a witness described it as like a missile coming down.
