Supermarket fridges and freezers in Belgium, Luxembourg and Sweden were hit by a suspected cyber-attack early on Monday, November 2, 2026. One Swedish store reported that its freezer temperatures had been set to 50 C (122F), according to BBC World. France 24 reported that stores across the three countries reported abrupt temperature spikes in refrigeration units in an apparent cyberattack. The incidents follow a similar attack that hit hundreds of supermarkets across France in October, causing food loss and fires. Neither outlet has named who may be responsible, and the number of affected stores has not been given.
