Afghanistan ranked 142nd out of 143 countries in the World Justice Project's 2026 Rule of Law Index, published in October, Voice of America reported on November 2, 2026. Only Venezuela ranked lower. Denmark, Norway and Finland occupied the top three positions in the index.
