Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Tuesday that talks with Saudi Arabia are ongoing and that Iran has no hostility toward Persian Gulf Cooperation Council states. Araghchi said on X that Tehran aims to build new regional security arrangements without foreign military involvement. Reuters reported that top officials from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan met Iranian officials in Tehran last week, the first high-level contact among them since August. The talks take place against the backdrop of the US-Israeli war on Iran, which began in late February. Araghchi earlier reiterated, after a visit to Turkmenistan, that neighboring countries remain a priority for Iran's foreign policy.
