Researchers recently spotted the brightly colored Ghana cuckooshrike in Ivory Coast's Taï National Park, the first sighting of the bird in 13 years. Stephanie Bartlett, a field research fellow with the International Bird Conservation Partnership, took the photograph. Mongabay reported that the bird had been considered lost. Paulo Ditzel, also an IBCP research fellow, was involved in the sighting.
