Supermarkets in nine European countries have reported problems with their freezers after cyber-attacks, stretching from Estonia and Sweden to Portugal and Italy. Many retailers were forced to discard food as a result. BBC World reported that the disruption has put Europe on alert. The report did not identify the attackers or the number of stores affected.
