Youth protests over living costs, housing and job uncertainty have spread across several European countries, France 24 reported. The movement began with French high school students and has since reached Belgium, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain, according to France 24. Researchers quoted by France 24 said the French students acted as a catalyst for shared concerns about their future, pointing to higher living costs, unaffordable housing and uncertainty about finding work. The report said the demonstrators have little trust in traditional institutions and gave no protest sizes, specific locations or dates.
