Bethesda confirmed on November 3, 2026 that the next Elder Scrolls game is titled The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, revealed in a 40th anniversary video from director Todd Howard. The name and logo came more than eight years after the game was first teased at E3 2018, almost exactly 15 years after Skyrim launched. Little else was shown beyond a title card and a short scroll video. Bethesda warned it will be some time before it is ready to share more, and IGN reported a wait of at least two more years. IGN also published a lore explainer on what Sentinel might mean.
