Oxford professor Dapo Akande was elected as a judge of the International Court of Justice, restoring a British presence on the highest UN court, Middle East Eye reported. Akande has argued against the annexation of Palestinian territory and challenged Britain's legal positions on Chagos, Iraq and Syria. His election returns a British judge to the court.
