Astronomers reported new radio evidence that a hidden companion star called Siwarha is moving through the atmosphere of the red supergiant Betelgeuse. The observations suggest the smaller star creates disturbances that subtly stretch and distort Betelgeuse's shape, which may help explain the mysterious behavior seen in the star.
