Qualcomm is turning to AI data centers to offset a steep drop in smartphone sales. On its Q4 2026 earnings call, the company outlined plans built on partnerships with Amazon and Meta. Qualcomm forecast about $650 million in data center revenue for the first quarter of 2027. The Verge reported that smartphone sales have fallen around 20 percent compared with 2025.
