NASA selected three companies on Wednesday to develop Ka-band space relay capability concepts. The work is meant to keep existing spacecraft in service without modifications to their onboard systems. NASA aims to acquire end-to-end solutions spanning space, ground, launch and operations. The awards were announced in the agency's space communications program.
