Around 500 people recently invaded Indigenous land in the Brazilian Amazon that is home to an uncontacted group. Mongabay reported that the occupation was a coordinated political campaign rather than a spontaneous land grab. The territory is home to the isolated Igarapé Ipiaçava group. Mongabay said the campaign involved politicians and was tied to the occupation.
