Gallery O on H Street in Washington, D.C., looks like an ordinary row of houses from the outside. Behind its facades is a series of interconnected galleries, courtyards and unusual spaces filled with art, objects and forgotten history. For more than 15 years the unconventional space has been part of the city's H Street corridor. It works less like a traditional commercial gallery and more as a place where artwork is built into the fabric of the building.
