The European Union has disbursed more than 4 billion euros in budget support to Ukraine, the Kyiv Independent reported on November 5. Ukrainska Pravda reported that Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi said Ukraine received 4.36 billion euros, including 3.7 billion in macro-financial aid and 660 million for defence. EU Economy Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis described the payment as an investment in Ukraine's recovery, security and prosperity. The payment forms part of the bloc's continuing financial support for Kyiv during the war.
