Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi marked 100 days as commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in late October 2026, having been appointed in July. The Kyiv Independent reported that Ukraine is regaining ground in the northern part of Donetsk Oblast and is working to improve defensive positions before winter. Drapatyi is considered one of Ukraine's most popular generals.
