More than 500 petroglyphs are etched into smooth slate bedrock along Kejimkujik Lake in Nova Scotia's national park. The Mi'kmaq have lived, hunted and fished in the Kejimkujik area since time immemorial, a presence documented through oral histories and archaeological sites including campsites, fish weirs and burial grounds. Atlas Obscura described the carvings as a visual record of Mi'kmaq history.
