Syria has sent a limited number of military personnel to Saudi Arabia to advise and train forces as the kingdom faces Houthi attacks, Reuters reported on November 6, citing two Syrian military sources and a senior US official. The US official said the advisers and training teams aim to improve the combat effectiveness of Saudi and Yemeni units based in the kingdom. Saudi Arabia has been in worsening hostilities with the Iran-allied Houthis since July, when the Yemen war was reignited by the wider Middle East conflict.
