Canada plans to spend at least CAD 2.3 billion, about $1.8 billion, over five years on advanced combat drones and counter-drone systems under its proposed 2026 federal budget, Ukrinform and Kyiv Post reported. The investment follows an agreement with Ukraine to expand joint drone production, and Ottawa has pledged to send one-third of Canadian-made drones to Kyiv. The funding is part of Canada's wider military support for Ukraine.
