Thousands of displaced people in northeast Syria have been returning home since last August as part of an integration process between the interim Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces. Voice of America reported that many returnees are finding their homes destroyed. The process is part of a wider effort to reintegrate the northeast into the Syrian state.
