Residents of three Hebron neighborhoods were allowed to return to their homes this week, about 10 days after the Israeli army forced roughly 3,300 Palestinians out under cover of darkness. The expulsion followed an attack carried out by two city residents. The Haaretz report said the army found only four weapons during the searches. The report characterized the expulsion as a textbook case of collective punishment.
