Mongabay reported that sun coral, an invasive species native to the Indo-Pacific, is spreading along Brazil's coastline. First seen in Brazil in the 1980s, it threatens native marine species. Divers are removing the coral to protect local ecosystems, a effort that Mongabay describes as killing a beautiful coral to save marine life.
