Russia fired 36 ballistic missiles and 172 drones overnight into November 7, 2026, aiming all of the missiles at Kyiv and its surrounding region. Kyiv Post reported nine people were wounded, including a child, while Ukrinform counted six injured in the capital, and the attack hit the North Bridge and a kindergarten. Ukrinform reported the Northern Bridge was damaged and Ukrainska Pravda said it was closed to traffic in both directions. The Kyiv mayor showed video of road surface damage, trolleybus wires and a power line, and said five parked lorries were damaged by the blast wave. Zelensky said the barrage was meant to force power blackouts ahead of trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi, and that Russia likely used North Korean KN-23 ballistic missiles. Zelensky said air defences could intercept only four of the 36 ballistic missiles because of an acute shortage of Patriot interceptors. Ukraine's air defence said it downed four missiles and 149 drones, with strikes and debris recorded at 34 locations nationwide. Separately, a private house was damaged in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district and a large warehouse fire broke out in Obolonskyi district.
