At least 30 people were reportedly killed in an attack on a market in Yemen's Taiz province, according to France 24. Houthi rebels blamed Saudi airstrikes, while government forces and local authorities disputed that claim and accused the Houthis of indiscriminate fire. The province has seen intense clashes in recent weeks and is home to around half of the more than 300,000 people displaced by the latest fighting. Separately, Deutsche Welle reported that 22 people were killed in a strike on several homes in the village of al-Shariya near the capital Sanaa, according to the Houthis, who accused Saudi Arabia of carrying it out. BBC World reported that the Houthis now say at least 25 people were killed in that Saudi air strike, a higher toll than the 22 Deutsche Welle cited. Saudi Arabia, which leads a coalition fighting the Houthis in Yemen, has not commented. The incidents add to fears of rising civilian casualties in the Yemeni conflict.
